Nicky and her partner Grant enjoyed an afternoon beer at this outstanding Cuban restaurant and were so impressed with the brew that they came back twice for the food. If you have never sampled Cuban food, this is an incredible introduction. This is flavourful fare of the highest order and the meals were superb from start to finish.
The two Cuban beers on the menu are both subtle and delicious. The pollo saltiado is a delectable stirfry of chicken and green peppers cooked in savoury Spanish spices. The Oaxacan Tamaleo is to die for and consists of corn masa and chicken (or veggies or beef) wrapped in a large banana leaf. Spicy and intensely flavourful, it’s gorgeous. There are also incredible empanadas and to finish off, a desert consisting of white angel food cake (usually not a favourite but great here) soaked in condensed milk and other delectable ingredients. YUM!!!! You can sit out on their lovely patio or inside the bright, airy dining room.
